Working with Domestic and Gender Based Violence: Implications for Lawyers
This training session is being organised by the Commission on Domestic Violence and Gender Based violence, in collaboration with the Chamber of Advocates and is targeted at law practitioners.
The training focus will be on the work of the lawyer, particularly when representing a client who has been abused, and also when representing a victim.
The first part of the training looks at the emotional and psychological impact of gender based violence as well as, domestic violence on the victims. The second part of the session addresses two main topics namely, the experience of the child and the impact of referring to caring professionals on the line of defence.
